The Offical LittleBigPlanet Thread (Update 8/14/10)

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

And here it is again. Grrrrr..

If worse comes to worse, there's 3 other games I'm planning on getting this Tuesday anyways.

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

Eternal Sonata and Star Ocean First Departure will keep me company on Tuesday if Amazon hasnt already shipped LBP, which I have a filling that they have shipped it (for release date delivery, since they dont ever ship on weekends)

-----------------
Er Sony says October 27th, I guess a week isnt too much

Yeah, one week's not bad at all. Hopefully I'll have Dead Space and Eternal Sonata done by that time!

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

Here it is, the song that has everyone in an uproar. (You don't hear any words until the first minute)

After hearing it, I can at least have an understanding. Like, for example, if the song quoted scripture from the Bible, it could offend many people.

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

Well from my understanding the religious group in question has their own debates over the issue of music even amongnst themselves. Whereas there are songs in the bible, there arent any in the Quran(sp). So even among themselves people have been in an uproar with the issue. Its only a week delay from my understanding.

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

Well chants and songs are not really an issue here, Starrynite. It's just using something like this for entertainment purposes is what some can consider offensive by most. Some forms of religion are not meant to be toyed with, but to be taken seriously at all times.

Like taking a song from the Bible or a scripture and turning into a hip-hop mix can easily offend people these days, especially where I am from in the bible belt.

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

Perhaps but there has not been any rise in the christian community spare textbooks that contained evolution idelogies that were banned in georgia city schools, where the christians have rose to outcry and force a game company to remove content because it was considered offensive.

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

Good example Starrynite and I wish Christians had more power to do that these days. If a single Muslim man can debate over one thing, cause an uproar, cease production on the ENTIRE WORLD, then why can't a single Christian man?

Don't forget how some schools in the US stopped the Pledge of Allegiance, simply because of an Atheist kid who did not want to say "UNDER GOD". So his parents sued the school.

It happens all the time. We just don't notice it as much because the majority of the Western Culture is already Christian. Plus, Christian values are usually already established from the beginning so there is really not much for Christians to complain about anyways. Trust me it happens, but when it comes to Christianity, it's usually a little more subtle.

Re: The LittleBigPlanet Thread

I actually must agree that it probably does happen but it is all caught in the middle of localization for video games and usually with those animated shows an anime, but that is more for American Morals and Idealogies

You're right. They do keep it subtle.
