Lol Nintendo had this in the works for years I tell ya. Start with the Motion control gimmicks, then when Microsoft and Sony try to hop on the bandwagon Nintendo finally comes out with good games ;D
Really? All they've offered up is remakes of games that are 10-15 years old with slightly worse/better graphics. Again they suffered from sequelitis in which the only titles anyone cares about are direct sequels (some being borderline ports and some being actual ports). Nothing new to really grab my attention. The 3DS just looks like a DS to me. I'll have to get my hands on one to really see how it works but I've never really been a handheld gamer and don't feel the need to replace my current DS, which I haven't touched in well over a year.
Sony did the Move/Motion control crap, which was expected so, whatever. I suppose that part of the presentation really wasn't for me. PS Plus is total BS, "Now you get to pay for what used to be free!" But again, whatever, I don't care about all that extra crap, and PSN regular still allows me to play games online for free, so it's still > Xbox Live IMO.
Sony also suffered from some sequelitis. KZ3, InFamous 2, LBP 2, and so on. But at least a Portal 2 and Twisted Metal are sequels to games that haven't before appeared on PS3. Jaffe's been locked away for some time so I've got high hopes for TM.
Apparently Sony locked down some exclusive content, which is cool, I guess, if you're the type of person who cares about that sort of thing, which I'm not. But I suppose they kind of needed to match Msoft's CoD timed exclusivity. The real winner here, EA.
PSP, whatever, not for me. 3D, whatever, not for me.

Overall this E3 really felt like it was aimed at a type of videogame player that I simply am not. I can't even say it was bad, it just wasn't for me. Msoft's Kinect still intrigues me, and Move has a couple applications and games that might be neat, but neither is worth the price tag. Msoft seems content to keep advertising "you can play PS games on our system too!" with Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, etc., and timed exclusive stuff which really doesn't matter, at least to me, because I usually don't buy or play games until they're a couple months old and a couple bucks cheaper. Sony at least had some sweet game announcements, but nothing that really blew me away. Nintendo... is now a company that is totally irrelevant to me. Their hardware and software... I literally played most of the games they showed a decade ago. Even the "new" sequels offer the same stuff, repackaged, and with waggle.
They all failed. Nintendo failed the hardest, and Sony the least, but man, it's all about tech I don't care about and marketing moves that don't interest me. And aside from the tech and the company politics, its all rehashes, remakes, and reboots. I wonder if the glory days of gaming are over...
