Ok kiddies the enod of the year is almost near and we have alot of contenders reaching for that goal, question is who's going to walk away with the prize this year? some honorable metnions are of course bio shock, mass effect, metroid 3, super smash bros, super mario galxies, and well you may be saying hey wheres halo 3? well to be honest unless it has a really good story line I don't think it has a chance, don't get me wrong I love halo but after part 2 bungie kinda ripped out my heart, and it's only strong point is multiplayer, yes I know bio shock has no multi, but thats not what makes it great the game design it self from the story to those creepy little sisters and etc, but what re your thoughts do you have avy games to add to the list? well bring the feedback so we can round them up and see who get's it, let the contest begin.

Critical GOTY will probably be Bioshock. Getting in the top 10 on GameRankings is an amazing achievement.

But I think Super Mario Galaxies may surprise everyone. That's my second choice.

I don't have any doubt that Bioshock is going to get jujst about every GOTY award around from the critics, but I agree with Mai... I think Galaxy is going to hit some kind of class on its on, to where it won't just be your annual "Mario title"

Still though, Bioshock was amazing and great, but I'll wait till Mass Effect and Brawl has had there say.

I dunno...Super Mario Sunshine, whilst good, was essentially just Super Mario 64 in a different setting. Yes you had a water pack, but none of that really changed the core objection of the game, which was to go through different stages collecting Stars (Sun Sprites in Sunshines case). I haven't read too much on Galaxies, but isn't it the same premise?

yeah, very much so. im not to excited about the story, or the premise. but the level design and graphics look awesome.

Regauding Sunshine... thats why me and Mai said we think it will kinda surprise people. Yea, Sunshine was just your normal, everyday, though awesome, Mario game. Galaxies seems to be... just something else. I think it has a serouis chance.

The verdict isn't in yet, but Mass Effect s being built up as the game to take the GOTY away from Bioshock, nad considering its a BIoware RPG, it will probably be my personal GOTY. I have to wait till November though.

did they even come out with any good ones this year? I don't really think so, at least none that made me say 'i have to get this game the day it comes out'

Bioshock and Halo 3 are the only 2 that have a chance.
For the critic's GOTY, Halo 3 will have a snowball's chance in hell against Bioshock. Its one of the highest rated games ever, and, unless Halo 3, or Mass Effect gets some crazy highscores from critics, Bioshock's got this one.

Phantom Hourglass and Mario Galaxy aren't out yet though so how can you count them? If that's true then I'd say Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion Wars for psp but that isn't due out til October.
