Virtual Console & WiiWare release master thread

August 9th. No VC, but a sequel to the best selling WiiWare game, "My Aquarium". No joke, it's actually number 1 in popularity.

WiiWare

My Aquarium 2 (500pts, Hudson) – Fresh from our revelation of the official website earlier, My Aquarium 2 emerges from the briny depths of Nintendo's WiiWare approval system to bring yet more aquatic action to the Wii. With brand new species and features, as well as the ability to transfer certain fish from its predecessor, My Aquarium 2 will no doubt float to the top of the WiiWare sales charts in no time. We'll have a full review soon, but in the meantime, check out our My Aquarium review to see if this kind of thing is worth raiding your treasure chest for.

Enjoy Your Massage! (500pts, Microforum) – You thought WiiWare couldn't get any juicier after Sexy Poker, but here comes a parade of anime ladies ready to let you press squares on their backs in a pre-determined order. Our upcoming review will let you know if this is worth your points or just a load of shiatsu.

August 16th

Monsteca Corral: Monsters vs. Robots (500pts, Onteca) – Planet Monsteca is populated by Stompies, orange monsters who previously lived blissful lives, free from pain and oppression. Then along came robots, and the whole balance was upset to such an extent that only by guiding an army of monsters on a rampage can harmony be restored. Stay tuned for the definitive review coming later this week.

Space Trek (700pts, Calaris) – Hold onto your hats: Space Trek is a port of an iPhone game, handled by Calaris of WarMen Tactics fame. With six levels, the promise of humorous dialogue and weapons with names like Quark Dispeller and Mega Rockets, check back later this week to find out if Space Trek can avoid falling into the same generic dumpster as WarMen Tactics before it.

WiiWare

And Yet It Moves (1000pts, Broken Rules) – This paper-based puzzle platformer is certainly one of the quirkier games to reached WiiWare, and that's saying something. Based on rotating the game world to succeed, it's got an aesthetic style all its own and gameplay we enjoyed in our And Yet It Moves First Impressions from earlier this year. We'll have a full review soon

and finally after 2 months...the Virtual Console returns with a rare NES title.

Ufouria: The Saga (600pts, Sunsoft) – A cutesy platformer with a little dash of Metroid thrown in for good measure, this may not be an all-time classic but it's certainly better than nothing.

August 30th

Tales of Elastic Boy: Mission 1 (600pts, Lexis Numerique) – A platformer from the creators of the PooYoos games, this was released in Europe last week.
