Virtual Console & WiiWare release master thread

HOLY POOP! 2 VC GAMES!? TWO NEO GEO GAMES!? *dies* :o

Virtual Console

Fighter's History Dynamite (aka KARNOV'S REVENGE) (NeoGeo, 900pts) – This sequel to Fighter's History is largely an insanely difficult Street Fighter clone that rivals Art of Fighting in terms of how EVIL it really is!

Magical Drop III (NeoGeo, 900pts) – This is the third instalment in this series of puzzle games that puts an interesting twist on the falling object formula.

WiiWare

Around the World (Wizarbox, 500pts) – Players lamenting WiiWare's dearth of edutainment titles are in luck. This release aims to teach geography through mini-games and trivia centred around monuments, history, sports, art, literature and people.

chick chick BOOM (tons of bits, 800pts) – A deceptively simple-looking title that pits two teams of chicks against each other for no apparent reason, picking up items and utilising specialised timed attacks.

WiiWare Demos

Max & the Magic Marker (Press Play) – We had a lot of fun with this creative platformer that challenges you to draw objects to reach inaccessible areas.

Janaury 3rd, 2011. First WiiWare games of 2011....and VC is missing..

WiiWare

Sneezies (Chillingo, 500pts) - A cutesy puzzler that began life on the iPhone, Sneezies is a decent enough title but doesn't do much to stand out in the crowded field on WiiWare.

Ghost Mania (Legendo, 500pts) - Dubbed an "original puzzle game" by the press release, Ghost Mania is a coloured block-stacker with ghosts and things.

WiiWare Demos

Robox - A slow-paced side-scrolling platformer, Robox is a very acquired taste so it's good news that there's now a free trial available for gamers to try out

January 10th, 2011. GHOSTS N GOBLINS and EXED EYES from Capcom's Arcade vault for the new year!

WiiWare

JellyCar 2 (Disney Interactive Studios, 500 Points) - The sequel to the popular iOS game hits WiiWare, promising even more driving platforming fun.

Soccer Bashi (Icon Games, 500 Points) - A Breakout-esque game with a soccer theme.

WiiWare demo

Art of Balance demo (Shin'en Multimedia, 0 Points) - If our Art of Balance review wasn't enough to convince you to pony up some cash for this excellent puzzler, maybe trying it out for yourself will. Snag the demo while you can and see how this one stacks up.

Virtual Console

(Capcom, 800 Points) - The NES version of this game was released on VC over two years ago, but if you need prettier graphics and stronger sound then this original arcade version might be for you. INSERT ONE COIN IF YOU DARE!! ::D

Exed Exes (Capcom, 800 Points) - Another one pulled from Capcom's stable of arcade titles, this one is a vertical-scrolling shoot 'em 'up.

WiiWare- Jan 17th, 2011

Doc Clock and the Toasted Sandwich of Time (Stickmen Studios, 1000pts) – Hopefully this game has more than just a fantastic title to offer, but considering it's from the same team behind Dragon Master Spell Caster and Kung Fu Funk.

Urbanix (Nordcurrent, 500pts) – Essentially a variation on classic title Qix with tractors, our Urbanix review has all the information you need to make a buying decision.

WiiWare Demos

BIT.TRIP BEAT (Aksys Games) – If you haven't checked out one of the most unique games on WiiWare by now, this demo is the perfect opportunity to try out a classic title for nothing.

January 24th, 2011. Capcom strikes again!

WiiWare

Jam City Rollergirls (Frozen Codebase, 1000pts) – An arcade action take on the growing sport of roller derby, this promises brutal action, power-ups and officially licensed teams and skaters.

WiiWare Demos

Furry Legends (Gamelion Studios) – A free trial of last year's furry floaty platformer, the full game divided opinion so now you can make up your own mind for free.

Fish 'em All (Abylight) – A fishing game that's not really a fishing game, this has been available since 2009 but if you haven't reeled it in yet be sure to read our Fish 'em All review and give the free demo a go.

Virtual Console

1942 (Capcom, 800pts) – A classic top-down shooter from Capcom's arcade heyday, while this may have been outdone by its sequels it's still regarded as a decent shooter, and a welcome addition to the Virtual Console Arcade.

Black Tiger (Capcom, 800pts) – Another double-whammy from Capcom on the Virtual Console Arcade front this week, with side-scrolling action platformer Black Tiger.

--------------------------------
Side Note:
Black Tiger (aka Black Dragon) & 1942 are beloved classics. Except Black Tiger is the lessen known platform that is insanely difficult but man it's well worth it for the action and the soundtrack.

March 7th, 2011. N64 VC returns shockingly with explosions!

Virtual Console

Bomberman Hero (Hudson Soft, N64, 1000pts) — A single-player Bomberman game, this one splits opinion right down the middle, but now it's available for you to relive past memories or make your own mind up. It's surprisingly good, but many complained since the multiplayer was removed for no reason.
