Re: Rorschach's mask, this is only 2 pages in the comic. He explains it to the shrink while he's in jail.
Yeah, he worked for a tailor, and someone never picked up an ugly dress that basically looked like one of the inkblots from a Rorschach test. When he saw later that she was killed, he cut up the dress and made a mask out of it.

Then how do the ink spots move?

Stealth, I like your explanation. I really need to read the GN...

Also, a funny note. I was talking to my friends in Geology class about seeing the movie when my teacher came up and started talking about it (she is in her early 60's and ready to retire). Evidently her son had the graphic novel when it came out and she read it and thought it was incredible and is pumped to see the movie. I :lol 'd

Again, I consulted my friends about this as well.

The answer I got was that the material was something experimental that the Vaidt corporation was working on. For what purpose I'm not sure. And yeah, Rorschach came across it when... what Cherry said.

One more thing, I wish they had kept Robert Redford running in '88. I remember reading the graphic novel and seeing "RR to run for president" and thinking they were talking about Ronald Reagan for obvious reasons. I just thought it was a cool little thing that it ended up being Redford in the graphic novel. It's stupid and pretty minor, but I still kinda wish they kept it.

Re: ween, honestly I wasn't too bothered - any scene Jon was in, I couldn't stop staring at his eyes. And truthfully he walked round nekkid in the comic the entire time, if they'd put pants on him or something I'd have felt that they shouldn't have.

It dawned on me, just today, thanks to an old friend of mine. That the nudity of Prof. Manhattan was simply symbolic. Yet to what? Representing God's innocence. The male body is always described in many forms of culture as art or majestic, From Egyptian to Roman Empire to the times of Jesus Christ. Since many compared Professor Manhattan to God, he wanted to take on that persona or probably have an understanding of what it's like to be a God.

The thing is, Dr. Manhattan was not supposed to be an innocent God, but an aloof one who, rather than being innocent and ignorant, had seen things in ways that would make our heads explode. He's the opposite of innocent really.

Yeah I figured that out, which is why Prof. Manhattan said "If there is a God, I bet he's nothing like me".

That was actually not in the graphic novel (at least to my knowledge).  Moore, in fact, believed that God would be aloof and disinterested, like Dr. Manhattan if he did exist (can't remember where I heard this, but I'm relatively sure about it).

Bought the graphic novel and read it through. Fantastic work, I loved it. Rorscach is undoubtedly my favorite character. I'm not sure what makes me like his character so much. Do I feel bad? Do I feel surprised at his violent nature? I don't know but there's just something Rorscach has that's so interesting about him.

Maybe because Rorscach tells it like it is? He's captain obvious of the inevitable, I'd say.

Plus, did anyone notice he has the same gruff voice as Batman in the Dark Knight?

Example: "Where's Harvey Dent!?" Vs. "Where's My Mask?!"
