I don't know it has been a while since 11. But oh well I am not SO interested. But just a little. I hope it comes out soon.

My personal favourite of all those FF's (and I've played everyone except FF2 and 3 on NES - including Mystical Quest) are Final Fantasy X-2. So what if the story are a bit bad, at least it's almost real-time combat! And yeah, there's another FF coming quite soon called Final Fantasy XII. It's a single player game. But why not call it Final Fantasy X-3 or something to avoid confusion? I mean X are single player, XI multiplayer, and XII single player? Uh... right. And there's X-2 as well to make the confusion complete.

Final Fantasy XII got pushed back to like Dec. 2005 in Japan, so it probably won't even get to the US until sometime in 2006. :(

I think they need to start spacing out the games more. I mean.... they are coming out too fast.

at least I think so.

I have been not to satisfied with the distaste of gamin crap that has been disposed of Square-Enix lately, I have gotten bored of FFXI after a 6 months. I never finished FFX-2 because I did not like that you are stuck with the same 3 characters for the whole (Very short) butt game.

Anyways, Apparently, FFXII is single player, and it takes place in Ivalice (As I hear) Same place that FF Tactics took place, except your gonna get a very good view of it. If anything, lets hope patience is what loyal FF fans have, assuming that if Squeenix **** this one up, FF could spiral downhill very quickly.

They are making FFXII very rich and from scratch, so lets just wait to see how it turns out.

EDIT: But I am excited about Advent Children. I don't think Square Enix could fuck up a movie.

i have read up on everything since like the beging of the year.. and still no new news since then.. gosh...

what ever i wanna do ,, gosh

I kinda loved Final Fantasy X-2 because you only have three characters. In the other games you always level up a few characters to be really powerful, and later in the game when you need a powerful character you get stuck with a weakling. It doesn't hurt it looks awesome as well. ;)

But a bit off topic, do we really need final fantasy? Star Ocean seems a lot like Final Fantasy, and would have been better if it actually worked. Secret of Mana used to compare to Final Fantasy on SNES, and those games were actually better. Even Lufia are quite good, and how many of you have even heard about it? Shadowhearts: Covenant are a lot like Final Fantasy, and is quite good. Not great, but quite good. Point is there are a lot of other games a lot like Final Fantasy that's actually better, or at least just as good.

yeah man.. were would we be without ff? ff was like the first good rpg.. and has kinda led the way. many others try to be good like them but just dont seem to work.. Were would we be without ff? god i dont want to know

what dope are you smoking, x-2 was only called as such b/c it was a sequel, why would you call FFXII X-3? and how is it confusing?
and feel glad you avoided mystic quest, wasn't so great, neither were ff2,3, at least from my memory

XI wasn't bad, if you had a person to play with, it went a lot smoother, unless you decided to fish randomly large monsters on your boat like me, but it was humorous no less
tactics and tactics advance i both played extensively multiple times, and taking anything from those is good for me.
and advent children is really all i want to see anytime soon

Yeah I really doubt there would be confusion. It goes from X-XII (ten through thirteen). Like moltar said X-2 is part of X, it was a spin-off. The rest are direct sequels but are never the same story or timeline.

But FFX are single player, FFX-I are multiplayer and FFX-II are single player again? No, that's not confusing. :D But what would they call the next multiplayer Final Fantasy? FFX-I-I? Uh...

And just because Final Fantasy were the first console RPG of some quality, it doesn't make it the best RPG series throughout time. That would be like saying Lord of the Rings are the best fantasy novel that will ever be written, just because it was the first.

That all depends on who plays them. Some think that they are, some dont. The only one I ever liked was Final Fantasy VII. But right now they are the most popular. Which is why I said somewhat of a bench mark. I think you're a little confused about the numbering system. Its not X-I (ten, one), its XI (eleven). X-2 is just a spinoff of X (ten) not a direct sequel, which would be XII (twelve). And I dont think lord of the rings was the first of anything. Its all been done before, but some would argue that it is the best.
