It's a side effect of posting a lot. A person doesn't post a lot to get on that list, but getting on the list can be a side-effect of posting a lot.Starrynite said:A side effect? I dont understand. On other forums being on that list is like saying that one is either a spam bot that just posts for the sake of posting rather than contributing to the learning environment of the topics at hand.
It shows up there when you get the effing forum.Starrynite said:Statistic are used to gather and see how the population at hand is responding. There must be some sort of reason for implementing this stat. IT certainly cant be there for the sake of simply providing curious parties to see the numbers of posts key members have made for a simple chuckle or sparkle of awe.
Certainly would explain a lot.A person who posts alot gets on the list?
That's exactly what it's there for. They're just there for people who are curious of various stats about the forums.Starrynite said:Statistic are used to gather and see how the population at hand is responding. No. A person's reason for posting a lot isn't to get on that list. Getting on that list, however happens as an effect of posting a lot. I've said this three times now and I just don't get what's complicated about it.Starrynite said:That is so confusing
A person wont post a lot to get on the list
Getting on the list results from posting a lot
A person who posts alot gets on the list?

It has logic in it.Homicidal Cherry53 said:I just don't get what's complicated about it.
That's exactly what I said. :lolStarrynite said:No one is here to post alot, but still they end up on the list. !!!!
People find topics in which they find interesting, other people find it interesting, a conversation ensues in the topic posts rack up, you gain posts, get on list. Did that make things less complicated?
Starrynite said:Im shocked at how a simple concept like this has totally blown my mind!!!

To be fair, the question has long since been answered anyways. Also, empty your PM box.CreepinDeth said:Don't worry about it too much. Just move on to the next topic of interest for you.
Starrynite said:but still to think that if you dont want to end up on the list, you are inadvertently added. Thats like you go and save a kitten from a tree and you are automatically handed the keys to the city when you never wanted them to begin with.

I thought the method of being on the Top 10 Poster list by being one of the top 10 posters would have been simple to grasp at the beginning of the thread.Starrynite said:Yes but the method of being listed is of prime concern, which was boggling.
