Wii dragging video games down?

I know this is off topic, but what do you guys think about AO games not being supported by any of the consoles?...I for one think it should be the gamers choice, the ESRB isnt even a government organization, its more like a recommendation that doesn't need to be followed. Not allowing AO games for the fear of "younger" gamers getting a hold of them takes away from the other types of gamers, no matter how small a percentage they make up.
I think it's ridiculous, and unconstitutional. It's basically censorship, not allowing stores to sell AO games. It goes against the first amendment, yet it still happens, and many people are happy about it.

quite possibly the most stupid post i have ever read.
M rated games are, on a whole rated higher by critics than E rated games, and sell better.

The top 7 rated games of all time on the Xbox 360 are rated M.
6 of the top 10 rated PS2 games are rated M.
9 of the top 10 rated PC games of all time are rated M.
5 of the top 10 rated XBOX games are rated M.
5 of the top 10 PS3 games are rated M.

the top four highest rated games of all time are rated E, and one is T

1. OoT
2. super mario galaxy
3. metroid prime
4. soul caliber

a games ranking doesnt determine its quality. all of you who think it does are idiots, and i dont care who hears it

Yes, people with different opinions ARE idiots! You have figured out why nobody can get along with anyone else!

M rated games are generally superior to T or E rated games, in my opinion. I get satisfaction pulling off a carefully planned mission in Splinter Cell or Rainbow Six Vegas or running and gunning my way through legions of aliens in Halo. Grabbing that shiny star in the latest Mario game isn't really that satisfying.

oh my god

you're missing the point of gaming, my friend, i feel sad for you

your one of those kids that listens to crappy heavy metal music and is like "this game is rate M! siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick dunananananananah"

no

the rating on the box isnt a measure of how fun the game is, its a measure of how much senseless garbage is in it

5 of the top 10 games of all time are made by Nintendo, none of which are M rated. The top three are all Nintendo made, and the only T one barely deserved a T(it could easily be an E).

Hell yeah. M rating =/= good game. Pulling off that sick, last second, perfectly timed triple jump over an insane amount of obstacles on Daredevil Comets = gaming bliss.

M rated games are better than E rated games generally. It is a fact.

Opinion, much?

Xbox 360: Almost all of 360's games are M or T. So having the top 7 rated games on the 360 be M games really ain't spectacular.
PS2: Besides the God of Wars, what?
PC: Made by Microsoft, which in turn leads to more than half of the games being M. Not that big of a deal.
Xbox: Once again, Microsoft.
PS3: 5 of the top 10 PS3 games. PS3's only got 10 games to be judged. (that's a stab at the game selection, don't take me literally)

That's like saying, "Oh yeah, 8 of the top rated 10 rated games on Wii are E".

Um, duh?

Im not saying one is better then the other...my favorite game franchise (FF) has a teen rating...just because a game sells more by no means says that its better, a lot of that is due to advertising...I just dont see why i miss out on an AO game ive been looking forward to, then because the ESRB says so, i dont get to view all the content that makes the game what it is. (im referring to Manhunt 2 by the way)...What a game intails is all depending on what a player is in the mood for, some days i feel like Racing or shooting Aliens, other days i feel like just going all out on a few demented weirdos that want me dead...no game is better then the other, it all depends on the mood of the player...

EXCUSEEEE ME??? THE TOP 7 GAMES ARE ON THE XBOX 360?? don't make me laugh, in fact the top 3 best rated games are not even M rated, and the fact that M rated games are better than E games is just ridiculous, it doesn't matter the letter if a game sucks it sucks. (examples : new mortal kombat games, touch the death, FPS resident evil games except for RE UC)

and for the top rated look here http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp?rankings=y

He meant top rated of all time on the console, not with everything. A little bit of poor wording that was corrected with all the other console informatiom.

A game with an M rating isn't guaranteed to be good, but generally I find M rated games are superior to T rated games which are superior to E rated games.

And I don't like heavy metal.

they are not superior. It all depends on what generation your in...Teenagers obviously like T games better then E games and so on...thats why they rate them like that...a target audience is the base of which nearly all games are built around...
