They aren't nice enough........they don't like to give out info or demos, period.
bummer :(

I am all over this demo though.. I cannot wait to test it. supposively its headed out August 20th.
I will post up some Gameplay pics :D

Well, if I have read my bees correctly, then August 24th may show us something on the Halo 2 front, perhaps even a demo disc.

That's cool, there should be more promotional stuff like that going on.

NM to what I had here before. But anyway, I totally qualified.

This is what I have registered:
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
Mario Kart: Double Dash
The Legend of Zelda (GBA)
Super Mario Bros.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Metroid: Zero Mission
Legend of Zelda: Four Swords

So I am getting the MP2 bonus disc!!! :woot That's so exciting!!! Now that RE4 is confirmed for 2005, maybe I'll end up getting MP2 when it comes out, especially if the demo is awesome! I hope the preview has some multiplayer footage, though. I want to see how that looks.

Yeah, Nintendo is cool.

Well, OXM has a special issue out the 24th. That might have something to do with it. But it won't be a demo, doubtfully even information. Bungie would have rather just said "We are making Halo 2." And that's it. Bungie hates to give out info, and never makes demos (minus E3 demos) before the game is launched.

but the E3 demos were press only, right?

well... that does stink about no Halo 2 demos........

but guess what?
we are getting MEtroid prime 2 demos :lol

:D sorry...

Yeah, E3 2k4 was press only. E3 2k3 was just Frankie playing an early build of Halo 2.

You may have the demo now, but I can guarntee Halo 2 will get better reviews and sell more copies. Halo was a system seller too, just imagine what Halo 2 can do.

Nintendo hides their games just as much if not more than any other company out there. They're always so paranoid of competitors "stealing their secrets" or some crazy thing. Personally, I think they should give out demo discs with Ninteno Power issues like that PS magazine.

Actually.... I believe Metroid Prime (original) had better reviews... and was given more awards as well. But you are right.... Halo 2 will sell more.

More people will think its a better game because its an FPS....

but Metroid (IMO) rules :)

Both had 9.7 from Gamespot.
Halo-9.7 from IGN, 9.6 from IGN users
Metroid-9.8 from IGN 9.5 from IGN users

I liked Metroid Prime, but I just think that Halo's multiplayer (up to 16 people), co-op, and solid singleplayer combined are better than Metroid Prime's Singleplayer. Granted, Metroid Prime's Single Player > Halo's singleplayer. But Halo's co-op>Metroid's singleplayer and Halo's multiplayer>Metroid's singlepalyer

Metroid Prime 2's multiplayer should be good though. It would have been better if they had decided to enable system link, but 4 players will still be fun. Especially in Morph Ball mode. I think that will be a lot of fun.

I've never even tried system linking with Gamecubes...........would be kinda hard though. Wouldn't you need one of the online adaptors for each Cube in addition to the Hub, cords, etc? But ever since I first system linked, I can't go back. Split screen enables screenlooking, you can only have 4 people, you can't really be stealthy or secretive. Split screen system linking is good though. like 4 on one system vs 4 on the other.

No, you can buy GCN linke cables, same as Xbox ones, at least I think you can. I never have actually seen one, then again, I've never even seen the Broadband Adaptor.

When you're done with the demo, could I borrow it? ::D

I loved both Halo and Metroid Prime, they both got 10's in my book. I do wish they'd had a multiplayer mode in the first Metroid Prime though.

ST... the BBA is not hard to find ;)

and silverr... no you cannot borrow my demo :D :lol

AND I just got a confirmation from Nintendo that my demo is shipping :woot :woot :woot

I'll let you know all about it!

um.... yeah.  I know I can get them
*at least I could about 3 weeks aso*

:)
but why use a link cable? If you have a router, that is much nicer.

I think a PC crossover cable will work as well.

A router allows you to connect to other PC's.... but you can hook the LAN cable direct from the BBA to a port on the router. BUT you cannot hook a gamecube up (IE Gamecube to Gamecube) with just 1 normal LAN (ethernet... cat 5 or 5e) cable.
If you don't want to buy ... or if you don't have a router, you can MORE THAN LIKELY use a cross over cable.

Basically..... it is a normal LAN (Ethernet cat 5 or cat 5e cable) but its not a straight cable. The switch the pairs on on of the RJ45 connectors. This allows you to hook 2 computers together WITHOUT a router via network cable.

see what happens in a router (or a switch) has both (lets say Gamecubes) hooked up to it via 1 lan cable to each broadband adaptor through 2 different router (or switch) ports. When One Gamecube sends information to the other.. .this is what happens:
Gamecube 1 sends info that travels up the lan cable to the router (or switch). The router (switch) "twists" the communication and sends it down the lan cable to Gamecube 2. The Gamecube 2 sends back to Gamecube 1 in this same manner.

The Cross over cable does the same thing, but in 1 cable.

There are benefits to using a router/switch as opposed to a crossover cable. That is the router/switch tends to help manage the packets better (back and forth between the systems). The crossover just sends raw data back and forth. I am not getting into this very much as its more advanced.
Also, my Gamecube 1 and 2 analogy came from a PC 1 and 2 anology that works in the same concept.

You can get crossover cables at any computer store. Also, I am going to test this out and let you all know if it works :)

I hope this makes sense :lol does it?

*** The difference between a router and a switch is that a switch is just for connecting computers together. A router does the same thing but has extra features that CONTROLS what computers connect and what ports..etc. A switch does not do that. Anything on a switch can be accessed (with the proper computer settings..etc).

I am actually going to create a new topic with this as well :)
