Buying a PS3.

i played the blue dragon demo... i loved it. the best review is your own by the way. if you love rpgs, i dont think you'll be dissappointed
Problem is, the story supposedly sucked, and if I'm gonna buy a JRPG, I'm gonna get one for the story, not the combat or gameplay. So I have to use reviewers to judge the story, instead of demos, so I don't waste money on what Blue Dragon supposedly is. Now let's leave the disscussio out of a PS3 thread.

well is there any RPG worth to mention other than folklore and final fantasy XIII for the ps3? too bad is not gonna be a dragon quest IX (the DS is lucky)

The PS3 will have more RPG's than any system ever. Why? Look at the PS2. The PS3 can build off of the RPG sense that the PS2 had.

It has a lot. There's Bioshock, Oblivion, Gears of War, GRAW, Forza 2, Call of Duty 2, and 3, PGR 3, DoA 4, Viva Pinata, Crackdown, Dead Rising, Hitman: Blood Money, Saints Row

oh i forgot to mention bioshock, which is also on pcs

and all the other games you said are basically average, or available on PS3

I can make a baiting statement too.

"All the games on the PS3 are average, or available on the 360."

I don't understand the sudden dislike of the 360. Don't you own one?

You don't have to start hating Microsoft just because you get a PS3. :)

Umm...what happened to Oblivion being your 5th best game of all time???

The only games on that list that's on the PS3 are Saints Row, which isn't even on it yet, and CoD 3.

And to call the rest average? GRAW's one of the best tactical shooters of the generation so far, Forza 2 is arguable the best racing sim to come for years, Call of Duty 2 was an intense, difficult, and actually exhausting single player shooter (on the hardest mode that is...) with pretty good multiplayer, DOA 4 was a really great fighter, Viva Pinata: a quirky yet, really entertaining strategy game, Crackdown was a little meh, but still a ton of fun, Dead Rising...well there's nothing more satisfying than slamming a zombie over the head with a cash register, Hitman had its share of problems, and Saints Row was a really good GTA clone...

@Mai, lol, that statement is almost true (well, it won't be at the end of the year). Many of the great PS3 gamesare ports or cross-consoles, but that's started to change with Heavenly Sword and Warhawk coming recently.

I wouldn't consider what Hines said baiting me though...

im talking exclusives here people

and at mai

i have a 360, i love it. but that doesnt mean that ps3 cant offer a great experience as well, as you seem to think

and with your wii argument, i know of three good wii games to date, and two of them are available on gamecube

Hines, no one's saying the PS3 can't offer great experiences. I was responding to this:

well lets think of all the 360s amazing games

blue dragon
gears of war
dead rising

.........................any other ones?
There are plenty of great games on the 360, and I was trying to show that.

As for the Wii, its in the same boat as the PS3. Great Wii games: Zelda TP, Super Paper Mario, RE 4 Wii, Metroid Prime 3. Great PS3 games: Resistance, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm (I left VF 5 out because it will be on the 360 very soon, w/ online too).

Both have few great games because they're both in their first year...

and what i meant by that was, 360 doesnt have THAT many great games, yet people complain about PS3's lack of them every single day

I never said that.

Still missing my point. You have a PS3, and you love it, but that doesn't mean that the 360 can't offer a great experience, as you seem to think. Even if Bioshock is on the PC, that doesn't make it any less of a great game to play on the 360 if you already have a 360.

She's got a point. If her point is just because a game isn't exclusive, it doesn't make it bad. If Bioshock comes to PS3, I recommend getting it. My brother hasn't been buying PS3 games for a while now, so I haven't had a chance to play many of them (no local on Motorstorm? WHAT!?), but I'll definitely be a-renting Killzone 2. A bit annoyed that Haze has been dropped for the 360, but just as long as Free Radical make Time Splitters 4 multi-platform it'll be all good. I like FPSs, but sometimes I think there are way too many.

I know what I'll do...I'll wait until the ps3 is 199.99 to get it...ha...ha ha...I win...pc ftw

There's just something I hate about waiting half an hour to install something that'll take up half my hard drive and probably be glitch crazy when I play it with my goddamn mouse and keyboard.
