Buying a PS3.

There's just something I hate about waiting half an hour to install something that'll take up half my hard drive and probably be glitch crazy when I play it with my darn mouse and keyboard.
All I have to ask is what is wrong with your computer?

It must be ancient o.O

The standard hard drive now is what...a 160? 250? Average game is 4gb? Standard hd speed 7200rpm?

I'm really interested to see if what you say can be justified.

Edit : the glitch thing doesn't really make sense either =\

I always get glitchy games with slow framerates, even on my friend's brand new Dell. I wouldn't bother arguing with me about PCs though, as I don't have a clue about specs of most things. That sounds rude but really, it's not intended to be. I just find it simpler to play my 360. There's always something that goes wrong with a game on my PC... save AVP2. That one worked out nicely.

If I want to play games, I'd rather spend $600 on a PS3 rather than $1200 on a computer any day.
Well, if you're gonna buy a PC, you are probably gonna use it for more things than just gaming, and I think that's well worth the extra money. Plus, the PC ends up pretty far ahead in hardware, within a year or two of a console's launch.

I assume you mean 1200 dollars on the computer as a whole with a monitor which averages around 200 dollars.

How much money does a tv that supports a ps3's true functionality cost again?

The cheapest 1080p tv I found was 800 I think and it had horrid reviews.

That would be 1400 dollars I think.

Pc wins again.

AND, Pc's do more.

OMG!!!! YOU DON'T NEED AN HD-TV FOR A PS3!!!!! Seriously, you can buy a $100 SD-TV, and have just as good of a time as with an HD-TV, so just forget that argument because it really doesn't hold up.

EDIT: And I've seen HD-TV's for $500...they were 720p but still.

I said full functionality :D

If I had a ps3 I wouldn't want to play on a 480i tv =\

That would just be a waste of 600 dollars since there enough good games out to warrant a loss of 600 without actually being like...ZOMG GRAPHICSSSSSS

Edit : I never said you needed an hd-tv to have fun. It was just making the argument that to utilize your ps3 you really need one :)

But Alpha...you're bringing up the sad argument of PC versus Consoles...I mean...PC's alright...but consoles are for the games...games on the PC...ehh.

That was a sad argument. At least what I say is justified. You must play really poor pc games =\

:lol I don't have the $1200 to buy a PC that will run decent games...I do have the $600 to buy a PS3 that will run decent games...setting all functionality aside. ;)

I could build you a pc for around 800-900 bucks that would run games better than a ps3.

I say 800-900 because I figure 600 for a ps3 and around 200-300 for a really trash tv these days.

Just my input. I guess I feel like I know what I'm talking about since...I do.

you have no idea how true that is
No, it really isn't. The PC gets plenty of great games. Consoles may get more because of a larger market, but especially towards the end of a console generation, we see many a PC game that is better than its console counterparts.

im honestly not trying to argue, but you definitly just made that up.

give me three examples

RTS games are better on the pc (warcraft)
shooting is more precise in a PC (bioshock)
and MMOS are somewhat better to play in a PC (world of warcraft)

however i have very few games on the pc XD, but just certain kind of games are better on the pc not all of them. (except for RTS those are good in the DS)

im very sick of the "fps is better on pc's" argument

halo 2 controls like a dream with dual analog, and actually allows more precise movement because of an analog stick, not just four buttons.

and metroid prime 3? controls better than any fps on any pc iv ever played

period

rts, just fine on consoles

MMO's are all the same anyway
