DEAR GOD NO!!!! Bungie leave Halo?....

There can't be a Halo 4 though. The entire game is actuall based along a series of boooks, which there are five of.
Now THAT! Could work. Perhaps as a mix between something like Battlefeild and normal style Halo? Because Dart is right, the game is basically the same not matter which one you play. What makes it good is the excellent story line. Its like playing a book. Tf you think about it, most games these days aree made to have a good story line, rather than a long life span. Unless of cource you play Final Fantasy, which can take a while... sometimes.
The Halo storyline isn't for me. Master Chief is as deep as a puddle and the storyline just generally isn't a big part of the game. I prefer western and CRPG's with really good storylines, and Halo, honestly can't compare to most of them, or Final Fantasy.

The Halo storyline is pretty deep, if you've read the books at least.
Well, the games do a poor job of showing it then. Halo's storyline was pretty run of the mill, and Halo 2, while trying to improve by showing the Covenant side of the conflict, failed miserably.

It failed to you. You just don't like Halo and that's cool. We all know you don't cause you've constantly been trashing it day in and day out. Nothing you say's gonna change anyone else's opinion. :lol

Thank. God.

Gee, Bungie is going to start working on another game? Praise the gods. Halo is past its prime. That game should have been a one hit wonder, considering the first one was the only one worth a flip. The second one was the first one with the same crap and an energy sword, and the third one is going to be the same, just with better graphics and maybe a small change or two. Long live Bungie, down with Halo.

Don't drag Half-Life into this. Half Life is awesome and not liking Halo does not mean I don't like Half Life.

And I never said it would. I've just never heard such praise about a story where the main character says 5 lines the entire game...

Good call Hines 8)

Yeah, some people just don't like games cause of how popular they are, so they overlook the little things. You once again bring the story into play Homicidal although you haven't read any of the books. That argument is over and done, go read.

Halo 1 brought an amazing graphical story into play and players had alot of fun with it. Halo 2 revolutionized online multiplayer gaming. Halo 3 will add to the story and have graphical updates and maybe one or two changes. I'm ok with that. :)

link has never said a word in a single zelda game
And I'm not playing Zelda for the story either...

My point is, I've played both games and through my experience in those games, I didn't like the story. The books could be absolute masterpieces, but that doesn't change what's presented in the game.

So you're point is...the story is the only thing that makes the game? Hmm...

@Hines....whoot whoot! Another fine point. Lol last time I checked, Metroid Prime had a really shallow story behind it too. :lol

Again, point being? Neither Zelda or Metroid is known for having great storylines. Metroid Prime doesn't even have any narration or much of any cut scenes. The only reason I am being critical of Halo's storyline is because

Now, Halo's focus isn't storyline either, but that doesn't change the fact that the storyline seemed pretty generic. In the future, Humanity meets aliens (the Covenant). Aliens try to destroy humanity. You are a super soldier (Master Chief) who has to stop aliens from unleashing a super powerful weapon that will destroy all of humanity (ring world). I mean, it just isn't anything special.

No. Story is an important part of a game, but not everything. The only reason we're discussing the story is that someone brought it up, I expressed my dislike for it. That's the only reason we ended up talking about it, although I fully feel that story is important to a game, but one can be good without a good one. Metroid Prime had such original and fun gameplay (in my opinion), I could almost ignore the storyline...or lack there of.

Hence the reason why I like Halo for the same reason.

Yeah, I know, but we're discussing the game's storyline and pointing out that some games I like have crappy stories doesn't really affect that. Its a difference of opinion that won't be solved through this...
