FInal Fantasy XII

Auron234

This is my story.... and you're not part of it.
I wanna know everyone's opinion on this....

Do you think the game will be as great as the others.....?
and
WHat do you think of the new battle system......?

When I played a demo that came with DQ8 I was a bit turned off by the battle system....but i guess everyone is at first and then they get used to it and like it more than the ATB system and others. At least thats what i heard....

Just wanna know your opinion

I HOPE real time doesn't replace ATB.

It all ready has. its like a seemless transition between exploration and battle and you only control the main character (Vaan) and the others are controlled by a "gambit system" which are orders for different situations

Hmm..I got a buddy that has a buddy that owns the game right now! Even thought its in japanese he still plays it..oh yeah he can read, write, and speak japanese.

my friend has a japanese book so you can learn it and stuff, but that was HARD! Isn't it like a symbol for every word. Wouldn't that be hard to remember?

Oh yea and does he like it?

The Gambit system sounds better the more I read about it.

I'm actually quite looking forward to FFXII. The FF games always have really epic storylines, which I enjoy. Plus, FFXII is set in Ivalice, which is really cool (Ivalice was the setting for the FF Tactics games).

I have the Collector's Edition pre-ordered already.

Yeah I already got over $50 worth of credit at Gamers thats just waitin for me to spend on this soon to be marvelous game!

BTW what's iin the special edition?

Same here. Did it the other day at Gamestop. 8) Also reserved Valkyrie Profile Sylmeria.

Didn't like it when I played it at E3 2005, didnt' like it when I played the demo that came with DQ VIII, and I still didn't like it when I played it at E3 2006.

The only way this game is even somewhat redeemable is getting rid of the godforsaken gambit system and all other "newbification" of the battle system. This could be the ultimate form of ATB, but I doubt they will present it well or in a manner that is pleasing to fans, but rather to people who aren't concerned..

Well it sounds to me like someone just has a bone to pick with Final Fantasy?

and BTW - Tommy will you answer my question then

That's the opposite of what I said - I love Final Fantasy, just not XII.

FF VI, VII, and VIII are fantastic titles, and the rest of the series is notable, too for the most part.

I wasn't too thrilled about the demo that came with DQ8 either. I'll wait and see what people are saying after it's released, and than I'll decide if I'm going to buy or not.

I havent played the demo yet i think it will be a good game but i would rather have the atb system instead of the new one. I was dissipointed with the new system from what i saw of it

Well I, for one have really high expectations for it and I think the game is going to surpass them. What I hear, this battle system is better than the others when you get used to it

Ever play FF XI?

No.

and why do you always qoute people when your the next post, it makes no sense :?

The Collector's Edition of FFXII is exclusive to GameStop and EBgames, so if you want it, make sure you get your pre-orders on it before they stop taking them.

For those who asked:

The Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition will be packaged in a steel case and includes a Collector's DVD with the following contents:

* Developer's Interviews
* History of Final Fantasy featurettes
* Final Fantasy XII U.S. Trailers
* Final Fantasy XII Japan Trailers
* Final Fantasy Art Gallery

I don't know about you guys, but the FF Art Gallery alone makes the extra $10 for the CE worth it.

For japan, maybe. But for the US i'd say that's actually a quite nice Collector's Edition. i'd rather have that than nothing at all for a limited edition.
