FInal Fantasy XII

Amazing game:Played for 8 hours so far and can't wait to play again. Story is amazing and the battle system is the best I've seen on a Final Fantasy game ever. There is alot more strategy into it then you would think. The battle system makes me WANT to level up for hours straight. Go buy it now!!! If you don't, your PS2 will eat your brain while you sleep! ::D
 
It starts out pretty slow. I didn't really like it until I hit the 5 hour mark, when Fran and Balthier joined my party and I got to finally make use of the Gambit system, which, btw, is totally awesome.
 
I find this game a bit challenging... I think I'm gonna start over and beef up more, idk
 
It's fun, but I think it's easier than previous FF's. And all the cutscenes sometimes get old. Still, very pretty and I do like the battle system. But it makes me a little lazy and I keep dying.
 
I found the game to be very easy, actually. I don't know why people have been saying they keep dying-I think the game is fun and haven't died once. You just have to beef up some and use GAmbits once you get them-AND USE THEM ALL THE TIME!!!!
 
Yeah, I haven't had a hard time with any of the battles yet, and I haven't even leveled up that much. I think I'm only about level 6. All you have to do really is make good use of the Gambit system. Sometimes you might have to adjust it during the battle, which should keep you from being lazy.

For example, when I was fighting the Flan, I had Fran's attack Gambit set to Fire, but she runs out of MP pretty quickly, so when that happened I went back and changed it to Attack so that she would still be able to act.
 
Yea, now I'm at about level 15 and I'm at Raithwalls Tomb still trying to kill that first wall that comes out, I know you don't have to but I want to, but now i am enjoying this game a lot more now that i have more gambit slots and am stronger
 
So, I'm at Raithwalls Tomb and I was wondering what level everyone was about. I don't know how to judge what level I should be. Also, does anyone know if the system is like FFVIII and the monsters gain levels as you do? I don't think it is, but I sometimes have my doubts. I am totally digging this game though. I had my doubts because X and X-2 were not quite up to the level I was expecting, but as a Final Fantasy fanatic...the game is fantastic.
 
Got back to this game after a week of Guitar Hero 2 and some drama-I'm at the first Judge battle with Ghis-I HATE THIS GAME RIGHT NOW *sound of PS2 being broken into miilions of pieces* WHAT HAVE I DONE? NOOOOOO!!!!! *rebuilding takes place, making the system better then the PS3 and able to play any game ever made.

But seriously, how did anyone beat Judge Ghis and what level were your characters on-which characters did you use?
 
My characters were around level 10 or 11. I used Penelo, Baash and maybe Balthier? I don't think you have to get his HP bar down to 0 either. I remember being really surprised when the fight ended because I thought I had a lot left to go. Then again, I could have imagined that. The only boss battle I've had to do over was the Demon Wall. That was tough.
 
When I beat Ghis I think he had around 1/10 to 1/5 of a health bar left, I beat him the first time so I don't really know if it's random or not. I think I was around 12 when I beat him though.

I used Vaan, Balthier and Fran, with Fran curing full-time and Vaan and Balthier pounding on him, and curing as needed.
 
And you should get as many quickenings as possible, I'm only at Raithwalls Tomb and I have all but one. They work wonders but are a little strssful when it comes to using them
 
I got 20 hours in to this title almost immediately. But it's just no good. :-/ It's like the bottom of the barrel scrapings for Vagrant Story and FFT with a dash of FF XI swirling together in a stew-pot to make a pile of crap.

Again, nothing I haven't been saying for a while. It's just not up to snuff with what I want in a Final Fantasy title.
 
I enjoy it, but still would have preferred they not change the battle system...
 
FF XII > Zelda TP


So I finally picked this game up yesterday cause I wanted a game I could sink my teeth into. Zelda was terrible and I've played Gears of War to death, so I brought out the ol' PS2. I have about 7 and a half hours into it and am loving it right now. Truly an amazing game. I thought I wouldn't like the battle system, but it's actually really useful.
 
I bought it a while back and forgot to comment on it. I really enjoy it! I'm in (I think it's called :-\) Rathwall's Tomb.
 
I was excited about this, but now I just don't know. The FF series are going downhill, and just what is with these girly looking main characters? >:(
