I caved and bought a PS2 again after 2 yrs

Well, I finally caved and bought a Slim PS2 (I have not owned a PS2 in 2 years) just so I can play Shadow of Rome, God of War, and Shadow of the Colossus. But this will not take away from my Xbox, 360, or Gamecube; just add to the family. :)

thats cool.

Yeah, luckily I had my Father-in-law's Wal-Mart discount card to buy it with. Then I got the 2 pack of New Memory Cards for $20.98 and Shadow of Rome for $10.49. Turned out pretty cheap!

I've seen these games around but know nothing about them... Since I'm too time-limited to look it up elsewhere, mind giving a quick summary/overview of what you think of the three?

Wanda and the Colossus is the next title from the ICO team..

Why do you always call the game by a different name. It doesn't make you sound smart, rather stupid actually

I have not had a chance to play them yet and have not even opened the PS2 because I bought Madden 2007 for the 360 and cannot stop playing it.

Allow me to explain it to you, presumptuous one.

Let's use example A) Wanda and the Colussus. This was the original code name and I still prefer it today over the new Shadow of the Coloussus. Furthermore, anyone who I'm likely to speak to about it is going to recognize it by the development name. Obviously, this is not you.

Example B) Seiken Densetsu. This series benefits from calling it by its original and native name. Why? When Squaresoft ported the games to the United States, the name was changed (which isn't the problem), but the numbers were changed. Seiken Densetsu 3 is Secret of Mana 2. You will find that people with knowledge on the series will be more often using the name "Seiken Densetsu", due to its ease of use. I could go on for hours.

Example C) Rockman vs MegaMan. For starters, MegaMan sounds like a bad 70's superhero in my personal opinion. Secondarily, for developmental reasons. His name is Rock in Japan, which, shock, coincides with his sister's name - Roll. Maybe you've failed to notice in Rockman games the other characters that make cameo appearances? Such as Bass and Treble? Are we beginning to see a trend here?

Rock and Roll, Bass and Treble... put that one together yourself. The translation to MegaMan lost all connection to that throwback.

I appreciate you calling me stupid, but I would suggest you do a little more research and educate yourself on these matters. It doesn't take long. In fact, hey! I'll link you right to the very site that will answer all your questions.

Have fun.

I'll venture to say that it was a compliment.

And a great response too. I was also wondering why the names didn't match up. I for one am never interested in a game during it's developmental stages because I am afraid that I'd see something that I don't like and be turned off by the final version.

exactly... I just don't understand the japanese stuff

@ sartori - any way sorry dude i thought you just trying to sound smart or somethin

No, I just speak in the tongue I'm native to. Some of these names are just personal preference, some are actually housed in factuality.

Apology accepted.

Hey I don't understand that stuff either. I don't know or care about games before they're released and I don't want to know what the game is called in a language I don't know :lol
