There are only a few worthwhile standard games on the Wii right now. By early next year, totally different story.
The automobile had the horse and buggy, and at first, it was less efficient than it. The telephone had to compete with the telegraph, which was already established and a far more effective means of communication (because of the lack of other people with telephones, lol). I see the Wii leading to similar changes in the game industry as those two made in their respective industries. It will grow the video game industry, beyond the niche it currently is, and really change the face of it.Strubes said:Let's see. All those listed above, changed lives. I don't see how those were considered new flares in the video game industry. It's not really a fact because of that. What did the automobile have to compete with? What did the telephone have to compete with? People didn't have a choice in the matter, so they had to go with the new flare. :lol
fhqwhgads said:*looks at Limewire* Wow, hard to tell why it makes more than the music industry. Face it, video games aren't really mainstream. Except now.
Yes. The market is maybe 150 million, worldwide. That's about 1/4 of a percent (0.25%) of the world's population. The music industry and movie industry have a far lager audience than the video game industry.Fr0dus Maximus said:Video Games as a niche?

Dude the Video Game Industry accumulate more money than the music industry shortly to be the movie industry
Sales isn't a fair comparison because games are 6 times the price of movie tickets, and 4 times the price of CD's.Fr0dus Maximus said:I was talking about sales
fhqwhgads said:Plus, with stuff like Netflix and iTunes, along with less legal means, the other two will continue to get smaller, odds are. Sure, games have ROMs and stuff, but ROMs usually suck, and not a lot of people use them.
