A Limited Edition version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be exclusively available from GameStop on June 12th, publisher Konami announced today. The Limited Edition package (pictured), which will retail for $84.99 (as opposed to $59.99 for the standard release), will feature special packaging with exclusive art from Yoji Shinkawa, a bonus Blu-ray disc with a pair of making-of documentaries (including interviews with Hideo Kojima), as well as the CD soundtrack for the game.

Additionally, Konami revealed dates for the Metal Gear Online multiplayer beta today, reaffirming that those who reserve either version of Metal Gear Solid 4 at "participating retailers" will receive access to the beta test via the free Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 pre-order bonus DVD. The beta will be available for download starting April 17th, with the servers opening up for play on April 21st. Both the beta download and online gameplay will cease availability on May 5th.

Not that I'm a fan of GameStop (at all) but if anyone is interested, I would recommend reserving, because I know this is one Limited Edition that will be hard to get even with reserves, if it's anything like past Limited Edition MGS games.

Yeah I guess it's not that good, when the MGS3 LE is going for over $187...oh well. :)

I already preordered, though I need to make sure to finish MGS1, then start and finish MGS2 and 3 over the summer before this comes out. Guess I'll have some late nights during the weekends...

Well I'm almost at the end of MGS1 (I think just one boss battle left or so), so I'll probably just finish through by numerical order.

I would play them now on my PS3 here at college, but someone (or a group of people) with a severe mental deficiency had to think up the concept of "region coding" on games...

The PS3 is supposed to be region free... oh wait that's the Japanese PS3. Care to explain where you are? You better be touched with near the end of this game or something is wrong with you.

$85 is a ridiculous amount of money for any game. it make me think that kojima and sony are just milking fans for anything they possibly can. i was completely embarrassed when i went and reserved mine.

I am in the US, but found a great deal on a PS3. Just so happened to be from Japan, meaning I can't play US PS2 games on it...

Ahh, that must mean that PS3 games aren't region specific then.

what about the legendary edition for Halo 3? wasn't that over $100 and I didn't see anyone complain about that.
