Ya right, I doubt anyone here could last 2 seconds on a pirate ship. Ninjas are bound by a moral code and honor and all that, whereas pirates can and will do whatever they want. They're total badbuttes. You gotta be made of some tough mettle to last on a pirate ship.

Yeah but we are not ninjas. Ninjas have discipline and im sure they can last just as long as a pirate as long as they dont get seasick. Its easy to go do whatever you want. Its a lot harder to maintain discipline and trying to stay cool under hostile circumstances.

Old japanese movies are great (Seven Samuray, for instance), but I'm talking about movies most people have actually heard about. ;)

Well that's the thing. Most people haven't heard of Ninja movies outside the American curcuit. And we all know American Ninja movies are rubbish. But there are tons of foreign Ninja movies that are great.

On the other hand, Asian horror movies have gotten a lot more popular lately with movies like The Ring, The Grudge and The Eye. There is a chance that other asian movies could get more popular since the horror movies got popular.

Oh, a fun fact. Have you heard about a western movie called Magnifisent Seven? It's about some bandits who try to take over a town or something, and only seven gunmen stands in their way. It is directly based on Seven Samurai. ;)

What it all really comes down to is that a pirate could drink a ninja under the table any day of the week, and that's who I'd put my money on.

Don't tell me no one's heard about the Karate Kid or American Ninja. Although Ninja movies aren't prevolent in movies nowadays, they're based around karate movies in general. Look at Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Have any of you even seen some of the movies they've made? (i.e. The Drunken Master, The Year of The Dragon, etc. etc. Also, have any of you seen Xiolin Soccer or Kung-Fu Hustle? Those were made by Steve Chow (I think that's his name??) and Mr. Chow was influenced by none other than the great Bruce Lee. Same situation with Quentin Tarantino, Jet Li, and countless other fighting karate movie fanatice. True, Pirates of the Carribean was a great movie and all, but that's considered as an outlier. Karate movies are way better. And the reason why I wouldn't last long on a pirate ship is because there is so much mutiny and double-crossing going around that I woouldn't be able to last a day let alone a month. Ninja's have a way better code of honor as well as some better weapons, although most are melee types.

codes of honor are for sissies...

Does anyone remember the name of that one movie that came out with that Asian dude that was supposed to be Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Bruce Lee combined? It was like a one word title and the guy did all this crazy shizzat in the trailer where he jumped through a hoop of fire and stomped some 250 pound guy down with his foot and stuff. Sorry my description is so vague and just all around terrible, I just can't think of the name at all.

Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee and those are martial artists, not ninjas. There's a big difference. Even I have studied some martial arts, but that doesn't make me a ninja. But if you want to go all "I studied ninjas at school because no one took me to the prom and they were the next big thing" ( :D) on me, here's a few facts that separate martial artists like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee from ninjas.

A martial artist fights for self defense, and self defense only. A true martial artist never, ever under any circumstance attack anyone. He or she will always try to talk their way out of trouble, run or fight back. In that order.

A ninja on the other hand uses martial art for combat, but only if he have to. His weapons of choice include the bow for long range attack, shuriken (or throwing star) for shorter attacks, ninja-to aka ninja sword for combat, and finally martial art if unarmed. And unlike what you might think from American Ninja movies, a ninja never kills anyone he never has to. He is paid to kill a target, and will kill that particullar target only. The exception is if he is caught, in which case he will try to run.

:lol haha yeah
I used to do self defense class and taekwondo and I do not call my self a ninja, :lol :lol
neither does my dad and he is a black belt

That's the point. A ninja uses martal art as well as other skills, but that doesn't automatically make you a ninja if you use martial art. For that matter, you can't pick up a sword and call yourself a samurai or pirate, can you? (well, you can, but I doubt anyone else will.)

I can't decide really. I like joking around as a pirate sometimes on MSN to my mate because we're both easily amused.

Some of my favourite DOA2 characters are known as ninja's of some sort.. so it's hard choice between the two.

I'm going to say Ninja's for the hell of it. Hah.

I think I have heard about it. Did it have "Dragon" in the title and some Bruce Lee-not-look-a-like posing on the cover? Yeah, I've heard about it. It sucks worse than Spongebob in a tropical rain.

The title is, "Dragon," so you are correct. By the way, the actor who stared in it was from the jungle book. (The Real Version, not the cartoon) And it was a great movie. Though it wasn't plausible.
