First conference (Japan) begins at 9 pm LOCAL EASTERN TIME. Thusly, all the news from the subsequent conferences will (assumedly) be old.

Discuss here.

Well, it's that tme. The Japanese conference starts at 1AM EST, and ideally we'll be getting all the information that is contained in the Euro and USA conferences that take place tomorrow, thanks to the gracious time difference provided to us here in the USA.

There are various things that will be talked about in this conference hopefully, here's a small list of what I expect bare minimum:

A) Launch / Pricing.
--- I. 2:00: Controller prices. Remote will be 3800 yen; nun-chuk and retro controllers will be 1800 yen each.
--- II. 1:55 p.m. [update 8]: And the other shoe drops. Famitsu is reporting a December 2 launch and 25,000 yen price for Japan.
--- III. 2:05: Wii Sports will retail for 4,800 yen (~$40). It appears it won't be packaged with the Wii as it MAY be in North America.
--- IV. 2:10: Zelda: Twilight Princess will be available in Japan at the same time as the Wii. It will retail for 6800 yen (~$57).
--- V. 2:12: Famitsu is reporting that there will be 16 titles from 10 different publishers available at launch. They will range in price from 4,800 yen to 6,800 yen. (JPN)

B) Launch date.
--- I. 1:55 p.m. [update 8]: And the other shoe drops. Famitsu is reporting a December 2 launch and 25,000 yen price for Japan.
--- II. It appears Wii launch date for North America is November 19th, for 250 USD with Wii Sports and possibly two Wiimotes. This is speculation at this point. We'll know tomorrow morning for certain.

C) Packaging.
--- I. *What comes with the Wii: 1 system, 1 remote, 1 nunchunk controller, 1 ac adapter, 1 av cable, 1 stand, 1 support plate, 1 sensor bar, 1 sensor bar standard, 2 AA batteries

D) Availability when and where in what regions.
--- I. 1:55 p.m. [update 8]: And the other shoe drops. Famitsu is reporting a December 2 launch and 25,000 yen price for Japan.

E) Virtual Console information.
--- I. 1:34 a.m. EST: [update 6] Iwata gives prices for virtual console games! 500 yen for NES games, 800 yen for SNES games, 100 yen for N64 games. Pay by credit card of Wii points card. Wii will play three MSX games (from Gemaga).
--- II. 1:38 a.m. EST [update 7]: Famitsu reports 30 Nintendo games and 30 PC Engine/Megadrive (Turbo-Grafx/Genesis) games before end of year. Ten new virtual console games every month!
--- III. VC SUPPORT The Wii site lists 24 publishers for the Virtual Console, including Konami, Capcom, Square/Enix, Tecmo, Bandai/Namco, and Taito just to name a few.

F) WiiConnect24 information.
--- I. Allows users to share pictures via WiiConnect24, Opera built in (functioning day-1?), as well as weather.. updates..
--- II. AWESOME ------- WiiConnect24 will feature a BBS-like message board system that can cross-post to and from cell phones, computers and other Wii consoles.
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/features/wiiconnect24.html

G) Misc: New game announcements, third party stuff.. etc.
--- I. 2:00: Controller prices. Remote will be 3800 yen; nun-chuk and retro controllers will be 1800 yen each.
--- II. 2:10: Zelda: Twilight Princess will be available in Japan at the same time as the Wii. It will retail for 6800 yen (~$57).

--- V. 4 Nintendo titles available at launch for Wii in Japan: Wario Ware, Zelda, Wii Sports, Pokemon: Battle Revolution.
--- VI. Big Brain Academy for Wii confirmed via Pop idol. Thank you Japanese pop idols. We love you for many things.

--- VIII. Wii gameplay videos up: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/topics/wii_preview/movie/lineup.html Games include: Fire Emblem Wii, Wii Sports, Project HAMMER, Resident Evil: Umbrella Corp Chronicles, Super Mario Galaxy, PILOTWINGS, Super Mario Strikers, Excite Truck, Dragon Quest SWORDS, Trauma Center, and more.
--- IX. More JPN Launch games - 2:43 a.m. EST: [update 18] More Japanese launch titles: Red Steel from UbiSoft, SD Gundam Revolution, Tamagotchi, and "ennichi no tastsujin" which might be a follow-up to Taiko: Drum Master(!) from Namco. More coming. (New Taiko? Awesome. Perfect platform for it and my girlfriend will go wild. Taiko rocks way harder than Donkey Konga..) 2:48 a.m. EST:: Trauma Center, Elebits, Necronesia, Monkey Ball, and Pangya Golf are all launch games in Japan. Wing Island, Kororinpa (a Marble Madness-style game) and Machariku Domino (a domino game) round out the Japanese launch list.
--- X. Tidbits: Famitsu says there are 34 playable games at the event, but Gemega says 44. The game we earlier called "Your First Wii Games" might actually be called "Wii Play" and comes with an extra controller. Found in the bowels of Japanese wii.com, a new promo video.
--- XI. Pictures of Photo Editor/etc
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/topics/wii_preview/presentation/07.html
--- XII. More tidbits: Iwata says "The success of the DS does not ensure the success of the Wii." One Wii point = One yen for virtual console shopping. (Good mentality)

There's the megaton. Price and everything...

Where the hell is everyone..? Big news..? ee....r.... hmm

Re: Nintendo Megaton thread - Discussion for JPN/USA/Euro press conferences. - 1

December 2nd? That's later than the rumors of early to mid November for here in the States. Or do you think they'll release it here first? I guess the 25,000 yen is in line with the rumors I've heard of $180-200...though I'm hoping for something closer to $150.

Everyone was probably still asleep, most of us have work or school lol

This is amazing news

Only concern I have right now, is the price of the Wii Virtual Console charging $5 to $10 per game...some games I'll agree to pay that, but others, no.

I agree. $5 max. You could buy the actual physical game for sega genesis, etc for that much.

What a pathetic assumption :lol

Care to retort, or will you merely laugh as Nintendo walks away with the money bags?

Come on, ramp up your response content a little bit.

Anyway, apparently Wii is also region free (at least for Nintendo tittles). That's awesome blossom.

Strubes, he's right man...the average consumer is too blind and stupid to know the real value of these games...especially the average joe who is always downloading games to his cellphone for sometimes $6.95 a pop...

Exactically. How many people bought Pac Man on XBLA for 5 bucks? Plenty. Mario Bros. NES is worth more than 5 dollars in my mind (game value), but surely not if I have three carts sitting next to me.

But how viable is it for most average gamers to play Mario Bros on their NES? Not very viable. A) They don't have an NES. B) They don't have Mario. C) They often don't know how or where to get such games.

Thusly, the VC pricing is ace and will succeed with flying colors.

:lol I jus laugh cause Nintendo fangirls will be Nintendo fangirls. Sony fanboys will be Sony fanboys and so on and so on. :lol

We're not gonna start another Sony vs. Nintendo are we? I love them both and the Wii is mine as close to launch as possible

the PS3... maybe in a few years

But this is AMAZING!

First of all, don't start. Something serious just happened recently and stuff like this is not being taken lightly regardless of who you're talking about. I refer to you to this topic.

This is a warning. Do not start any flame wars. And that goes to all of you also.

Second, Sartori had an actual point as not many consumers know about emulators, resellers, etc. There is an actual demand out there especially since there are probably going to be some rare games on there that would cost much more than $10 if they were in physical form. I don't agree with him that Nintendo is going to runaway with the industry but they will sell.

::D Wow your real cool

:hh wow.....

I much as I don't want to, I agree with Sartori, nothing against him, I just wich that Sony would not suck at things. So in that count i agree Nintendo will once again rule the industry. But like Creepin said, not totally, but they will
