The Offical E3 2008 Thread (July 14th to July 16th)

RESISTANCE ON PSP HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!!

Introducing "Resistance: Retribution"

3rd Person prespective this time around, will be released Spring of 09'

80GB PS3 has been re-released as a CORE UNIT at $399.99! Just the console by itself....$399.99!

Only thing is, it's the same thing as a 40GB, meaning no Backwards Compatibilty :(

God of War was announced with a Trailer. New trailer on inFamous. And a new Massive Action game titled MAG was introduced which includes 256 player battles.

Nothing really amazed me from anyone. Full room chatting on Animal Crossing is cool(as is Animal Crossing itself), as was FFXIII360(just the effect, really, since I don't care about the game), but it was overall lackluster.

well i hope nintendo and sony give us more info on the games I wanted on E3 (JRPGS) on the tokyo game show

I was reading the live blogs all day today at work. :lol

I'm just about to check out some videos now, but all in all they both had solid showings. Sony definitely had some killer titles on the way: inFamous, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MAG, and so forth all looked really, really good. The PSP connectivity features looked really cool too, transferring movies back and forth from them and such.

As was mentioned, Nintendo demoed a lot of things that could potentially make some great games. Problem was, they didn't really show any great games. Where was the killer title Reggie promised the hardcore? I don't know if Nintendo just thinks the audience that's buying their systems and games don't care about E3, or if they just didn't have any great games worth showing, but either way their conference failed to really impress. Some neat ideas for sure, but their whole presentation lacked oomph.

the thing is reggie had potential to make a good show but didn't use it, after the conference G4 interviewed him and he said the zelda and mario teams are working on games right now, also the fire emblem DS was announced a few months ago and ALSO G4 said kirby and warioland are in the works.... so seriously why the heck did nintendo show only casual games on E3????

here's the info, read what G4 said

Using that logic, they wouldn't show any casual games.

Anyways, they did what they had to. All the hardcore titles they had...well, we know they exist and we'll buy them. But do the casuals scour the internet looking for the next sweet pick-up-and-play title? No. And E3 is the biggest conference, so it's the best way for people(even casual gamers) to notice. As for the hardcore games, they can release information at a later event or just when they feel like it.

I didn't get to watch Sony's but from what I'm getting from it, it was definitely better than Nintendo's? I won't actually get to watch it til maybe tomorrow morning, it's on TiVo though.

You can watch it on G4's Website.
