Why PS3 will flop

1. Too many useless features. 2 HDTVS 7 controllers on 1 console, Blu Ray.
2. Hard to develop for. Developers are saying PS3 is a nightmare to program for.
3. The Cell chip is not nearly as powerful as Sony says it is and the multi cores make it VERY hard to develop on
4. SCEA are jerks,. they rejected 100s of Games for US release and companies are fed up wtih sony.
5. Fickle fans XBOX sales up PS2 sales down. XBOX is the new IT thing among Fickle teenagers
6. Square and others jumping ship. Square pledges 360 Support, Sony lost Virtua Fighter 5 from Sega It'll be on 360 now that hurts sales in Japan.
7. Ken Kutaragi's Ramblings, NOBODY is listening to him but the Rabid Fanboys. It's Obvious he's scared
8. NOBODY has ever won 3 generations in a Row.

Wow you really do hate Sony. Its cool. But I would like to see some of your sources about them being fed up with the games that got rejected. I dont keep up too much with what goes inside in the industry as I used to.

So:

1. Nothing wrong with HDTV. Plenty of people have them and more are going to be buying them in the next five years. (which is what im estimating the lifespan of the PS3). Blu ray is actually not useless because it holds more data and can have better loading times. As for the seven controllers, I know not many are going to use them but im sure that there are plenty of people who play Madden or other sports games that use up those controllers. Now you dont have to go and buy a seperate multi-tap.
2. Has happened before with the PS2. Developers got the hang of it and started making better games. Im assuming it will be the same.
3. Power isnt the only thing that makes a system better. Its the developers who make the system with their creativity. The original NES didnt stop developers from making great games with their limited resources, or even atari or other vintage systems.
4. This is where I would like to see your sources. Because this happens with every system. Not all of them are going to get clearance for release.
5. I dont see how this helps your argument. So teenagers like it. That doesnt necessarily make it better. Im sure there are some things that you really like but many people dont. Does that mean that what you like sucks?
6. Well that is quite a blow to Sony. But Sony has a lot more franchises in their camp, for now.
7. I want to read some of this. Where can I read some of his "ramblings"?
8. Nobody has won 2 generations in a row, but Sony did it. At least I think I read that some where, (please correct me if im wrong). This one doesnt really help your case either. Its irrelevant because Sony still has a chance to win it again. This one can only be predicted. Every system is against the odds.

So I disagree. Mainly because its still to early to tell.
 
Nintendo won twice SNES BARELY beat out the genesis.

As for my sources. Gamespot should have everything you need to back up most of my claims.
Companies getting fed up with sony came from an SNK Interview I forget where.

I'll explain more when I have time (Ie when I get home)
 
for example the reason Metal Slug 3 came to XBOX was because SCEA Didn't want it

Guilty Gear XX#Reload same reason SCEA didn't want it.

All the XBOX fighters from SNK same reason.

and SNK in Japan has about had it with SCEA because of it.

Well first off, Sony has the choice to not want them on their system. I personally dont think thats cool, but thats business. Yes it just might turn people away from Sony, so maybe you'll get your wish. But as for my opinion on it, I dont play much SNK so its not a big loss for me. But I can see fans of SNK being turned off by it. But I think that they will get overshadowed by the big games like Halo.

Not really since I dont play SNK games. But that doesnt mean that they sell as much as a Halo type game. Not saying they wont sell. But im sure more people are going to be playing Halo then Metal Slug 3. But in the end I dont think that SNK on XBOX is going to have a big effect on PS3's sales. I mean PS3 still has Grand Theft Auto and the Resident Evil series, Metal Gear, Soul Caliber, Tekken, etc. I dont know if you like those games, but they are popular. Its going to take a lot more than SNK games to impact Sony.

SC: I also believe was anounced as a PS3 exclusive. Sony paid to have exclusive rights.
Tekken: I dont keep up with the industry. Ill look that one up.
 
Namco said they will bring Soul Claibur to all Next Gen Platforms

Only place to get all the RE games is on the Gamecube. RE 1 and 0 are exclusive to the cube and the PS2 CAN NOT handle RE4 as it was on Cube. RE5 might be on PS3 but it might also be on XBOX360 and Revolution

Keyword: Might. Yes I know there is a chance that it might come to XBOX 360. But until that happens it will only be on the PS3. Which will help Sony in the long run.

You'd be surprised. Go check out some videos on gamespot or IGN on how this game is coming along. It looks almost as good as it does on the Cube, and byt the time it's released, it's probably going to look even better.

I still think Sony has a strangle hold on the industry. Every satisfied PS2 owner is going to want to upgrade to a PS3 sooner or later. Building off of the PS2's success will be easy for Sony to do, and that alone could put Sony back in a commanding lead of the console war.

sorry... it won't look as good. Wait till you see the comparison.

but then again... Sony might pay off Capcom to do some extra programming to get it done close.

You know..... I wonder if RE4 sales on the PS2 will come close to the 500K + sold on the Gamecube.

Sony does have a hold on the market... but they still can't see to get the handheld market right. They'll lose their grip on the console market. Nintendo was on top 2 consoles, Atari had a couple, It doesn't take much to fall. All it takes is a couple wrong moves and the industry changes.

The PSP Sales are another indacator that the PS3 might not be the biggest thing ever.

Besides that there are reports now the PS3 a year away from release, Is already defective.

I dont know about it looking better, I still have my doubts, but I do know that they are going to add a bunch of new features. And that to me is better than a graphics upgrade.
 
I think there's only one way that Sony could fail; pricing themselves too high.

The PSP is a technically great system but it's struggling in sales because of the cost. Many people who come to me at Wal-Mart and GameStop are really interested in the PSP until they find out the price. Then it's either, "Wow, I didn't know it was that expensive. I guess we'll have to wait for a price drop," or "No way Jose. That's too expensive."

I have a feeling that the PS3 will also face the same problem.

All I am saying is that other big companies have been on top and have fell.
