The lovely Mai above me was gracious enough to answer that question. The steel case I believe should be reminiscent to the Halo 2 SE steel case them huh?
 
I've already pre-ordered the collector's edition through Gamestop and I think the game will be pretty good. Even if it's not as good as any of the other FF games, it will still be fun to play a new rpg with the essence of Final Fantasy. I heard the battle system has two versions-ATB and whatever the name of the new one is. The Director for the game said that it is a big improvement from the demo in DQ 8. Hope so... :D
 
Never played FFXI. Sadly, FFXII's battle system is one version-better like it or else system. :hh eh, even if the game sucks, I can sell the collector's edition on Ebay in a few years or somethin'. The thing of being able to use any party members except the metro-sexual Vaan all the time will be cool......

Honestly.. I don't remember why I asked that.

But no, I don't play FF XI. It's too carebear for me. If it's not Ultima Online circa 98-00 or a little bit of AC here and there, I don't give a damn about these neo-EQized MMORPGs. :-(
 
anyone play Steamboat Chronicles on PS2...(no it's not a MMO, but I'm bored.) I played a demo and thought I could play it for a day or two. To keep on subject, FFXII is gonna be cool-go pre-order teh Collector's Edition fools!!! :af
 
OPM gave this a 10/10 and proclaimed it the best Final Fantasy on Playstation, which means a lot to me because FFX is my favorite game of all time...

No trick or treating on Halloween for me this year... I'm gonna be exploring Ivalice
 
It's almost here!!!!!!!!

Every multiplatform magazine I have read has given FFXII game of the month, and I've even seen quite a few 10/10 scores thrown around.

I really hope it lives up to that when I actually play it. :D

I think this will be the first Final Fantasy that I've actually played right when it came out. Every other FF game I didn't play until years after it was out (even FFX). So it will be a pretty interesting experience.
 
I know I'm so excited, but I start my full time job on Monday. So I go to school from 8-3:30 and work from 4-11, 5 nights a week :-[
so thats not gonna be much fun... but I'm buying it at launch anyway :D

So basically Monday - Friday you're gone from 8am - 11pm? Dude that sucks :lol.

I haven't really read up on this game that much. Well, I haven't really for any game lately, I don't want to know too much.
 
well it weird I get every sunday off and every other friday and every other saturday off
 
I have now played the AMAZING FINAL FANTASY 12 for PS2 for three hours straight! I got the collector's edition which includes a dvd with the history of the Final Fantasy series and otehr in-depth looks at FFXII. This game deserves a 15 out of 10!!!!! The graphics are the best I've seen for the PS2 ever. The CG movies look better then some PS3 games!!! I would tell anyone who owns a PS2 to go buy this game immediately. The game goes straight into the action...never stopping with fun and excitment. What i'm saying is go buy it NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I agree Manson. I tried it in the store yesterday and was blown away by the Cinemas. The battle scheme is new and takes a little getting used to, but originality is a plus
 
How different is the battle system? I don't really want to go out and buy this game too blindly. Is there any major bad points about the gameplay or anything?
 
To put it plainly, you no longer have to have game play interrupted by switching from adventure to battle mode and back.

When battling, you press a button to choose what action you are performing. A line is drawn from you to the character you are performing the action on. Meanwhile you are given the freedom to position your character on the playfield by running around.
 
I managed to sneak this off my friend while he was working, and seems good so far. It seems to start off a little slow though, but it's starting to pick up.

My roomates' thoughts exactly. He pre-ordered it, and then skipped school to pick up, and then played it for about 6 hours on the first day. over 15 hours in the first week... finally he left for the weekend so I can get in some quality time with it. From what I've seen him play though, wow, just wow.
