You've got to be kidding me Sony...

Well this is just perfect. Sony goes and makes a really great E3 press conference and things are looking up. Then, I stumble upon this little article at Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6175011.html?action=convert&om_clk=latestnews&tag=latestnews;title;0

In short, the 60Gb PS3's days are numbered. That's right, the now $499 model is being discontinued. >:(

Am I the only one who's feeling just a little bit of bait and switch here. >:(

EDIT: I'm starting to wonder if Sony wants to piss off their fans. >:(

Wow that is sad. It's like "Come on people you MUST buy one of these $499 before they all gone"....F@$# off Sony

UGH! This is stupid. Taking away the cheaper (that's still too expensive) model will not convince me to buy one. You've just lost a potential buyer, Sony.

What I don't get is why they can't just stick with two price points. As soon as they announce the price drop, the PS3 becomes the best selling item on Amazon, yet somehow, they aren't smart enough to see that people want to buy the PS3 for a cheaper price. They should have just kept both models in production. >:(

Bizarre. Makes you wonder if the Three Stooges are really dead or are they secretly running SCE?

You could tell it was gonna happen during the press conference, was I the only one who figured the monotonous person was realizing how screwed they were making themselves?

I bought a PS3 60 GB today and put a 2 year warranty on it through best buy. So, I paid $500...and $20 for the 2 year fee (since I used to work there), and they say if I return it later and that model isn't carried anymore and something happens to the PS3, I'd get $520 store credit. The way I see it, I'll prolly just pay the $80 in 6 months after my PS3's paid off and get the better version. It's a win/win situation for me. :)
